Honestly, most American's have gotten mixed up here in the last 10 years. What would have been considered extremely un-American is now the norm. The idea of sacrificing liberty for safety is appalling. Those that support such acts are the ones that are tearing this great country down, one "Patriot" Act at a time.

Take the name "America" and move it aside, just temporarily, so you don't get caught up in the emotional connection you have to this nation...

Now, from this perspective you might be able to see that this country is not very special in the grand scheme of things. No longer is this country ran by the people, rather it is ran over them... No longer do these people have a sense of unified spirit, rather a sense of "me, me, me"... No longer do the people of this country think for themselves, rather they let the media think for them...

America is no longer america anymore... "Patriotism" is no longer patriotism anymore... Today patriotism means blind faith without question...whereas before it meant the opposite.

I use to be a gung-ho over the "idea" of america... But the fact of the matter is that until there is a complete overhaul of our government, we will never have an ideal product that we can slap the "america" name on and be patriotic for.

You seem to imply that if one believes America has become corrupt, one must believe other countries are not. Why do you make this excuse for America's corruption? If you murder someone and end up in front of a judge, do you think he will be moved by your "there's plenty of other murderers out there, and I'm just doing the same thing" argument? The fact that other countries get away with it is not an excuse for the same in America.

I believe America's leadership should be held to a higher standard, and abide by the constitution, as it is the highest law of our land. The fact that no one in Washington seems to have even read it pisses me off. The fact that they continue to take unconstitutional liberties every single day pisses me off. I don't care whether other countries do this or not, I expect every official to follow the law.

You also imply that anyone not happy with the status quo should just leave the country. If that's really what you meant, then you, my friend, are actually part of the problem. This sort of complacency, letting elected officials get away with anything, and accepting any unconstitutional law like a freakin sheep without so much as a peep is what got us into this mess in the first place.

Why don't YOU just leave so that those of us who would actually like to fix this cesspool can get to work.

My point is not to ruffle anyone's feathers, I am with you all on the anti-NWO. I just keep seeing everyone of us tearing down this group, or that group, and finding no common ground. It is time to put aside petty differences and stand together. What ever happened to good manners and civility to one another, even people you don't agree with. I cringe sometimes reading commments on this site that are fairly benign and get answered with every personal attack you can think of.
What is wrong with our country as a whole starts with each and every one of us. We need to check ourselves and our behaviors.

So, you are against freedom of speech. You support censorship and/or limitation of speech. That means you don't support the Bill of Rights...most specifically The First Amendment. Subsequently, that leads us to suspect that you are anti-American at your core.
