U.S. President Barack Obama is urging the nation to seek inspiration from the former communist empire the Soviet Union to guide America out of the current economic troubles.
In a preview of a speech to given today in North Carolina, Obama will call for a "Sputnik moment" of government and private sector "investments" in research, education and infrastructure.
Obama has faced accusations that he is a socialist, communist, fascist and anti-capitalist. Over the years he has repeatedly claimed that communist China as doing better than the Unted States. Now, with this explicit call to emulate the Soviet Union, Obama and his image adviser David Axelrod have given Obama's critics a clear example of Obama's totalitarian sympathies.
Obama could have called for an "Apollo moment", except he has gutted America's space program.
Obama could have called for a "SDI moment", but he's trying to gut our ballistic missile defenses with the New Start treaty with the shadow Soviet government of Russia's Vladimir Putin.
Obama could have pointed to other great examples of America's revolutionary inventions and efforts to inspre the nation. Instead he called for America to emulate a dead, murderous communist empire.

Obama will make his pitch for the next Sputnik moment, referring to the name of a satellite Russia launched in 1957 that provoked a scientific and educational revolution in the U.S, while at a community college in North Carolina.
