Tiny numbers and letters in the eyes of Mona Lisa - can only be seen under a 21st century microscope
"Even in close up the numbers and letters are not visible and must be placed under a microscope to become visible."

Now, the obvious question (not asked by this article), is how did Da Vinci physically manage to paint letters and numbers so small, that they can only be seen under a 21st century microscope?

They were painted in there during the 1911 robbery.

Doubtful. The paint wouldn't match.

Picquet remarked, glancing at his watch as he left the room. The time was 7:20 a.m.

He loved the idea of being part of history.

What better way than to paint himself into the worlds most famous paintings?
