I'm glad things worked out for him, but social workers are required to investigate claims. That doesn't make it any easier when it's a bogus claim because you will still feel like a criminal even though you didn't do anything wrong.

If you read the article you find a few interesting points that were NOT raised by the CPS worker, but most likely were the real reasons to prompt an investigation.

"I was quite shocked, being that I never go anywhere, I have no friends,etc... Literally I have no physical friends where I reside. I'm a single father of two girls that I homeschool. I never go anywhere and my curiousity was spiked immediately."

Abusers like to isolate their victims from the rest of the world. He home-schools his girls, most likely also keeps them close to home. Himself, doesn't socialize in the immediate area.

This is a sort of situation where an abuser holds the most control. We see it in cases of domestic violence where the wife isn't allowed to socialize, isn't given money, and isn't allowed to work, this way the abuser holds total control over the situation.

The 'details' of his life were incidentals. What he does not understand is that he is being profiled as a potential abuser. He needs to de-isolate himself in the local community, he also needs to make certain his girls participate in social groups outside of the home. Isolating himself and his family is sending out too many 'warning signs of abuse' to the community.

A parent like that is an endangerment to the child not growing up poisoned, dumbed down and a willing sheep for tptw, which is why they need to investigate it because you can't have anybody outside the pen, others might look and start to think too.

BUT: in this day and age, when the children's peers are doing WHAT THEY DO (and that is WHATEVER they do) and social groups are doing WHAT THEY DO, and 'local communities' of all kinds are doing WHAT THEY ARE DOING, I don't see ANYTHING amiss with wishing to opt out, do you? A sad fact of such profiling and I know where your coming from about de-isolation that should be fixed to "fit in".
Some areas one chose to live at as the years go by has neighbors their age leave and becomes difficult to find physical friendships locally.
For those poorer such meetings take some extra cash and gas money that they dont have.

That a guy who deserves more credit than most fathers get this treatment with hearsay and apparent knock knock of all surrounding neighbors doors for extra details before they start in on him.

no. but you'd be stupid to think you could survive more than a week or two with just a bag of supplies. the "bag" part implies its small enough to grab and go flee to the woods or something. mabye good enough for storm evacs but not something like an x class flare or some shit. in that type of situation you wouldnt want to even leave the house.
