It was much the same in the former Soviet Union and authoritarian states such as China where the government determines all aspects of an individual’s life and where even the mildly rebellious are severely punished. Quoting: RTS[link to www.infowars.com] from the link.. SWAC is even more draconian. It is “a large-scale collaborative effort among public and private authorities, facility owners, contractors, and labor organizations who are partnering to prevent terrorist activity by creating a trusted contractor community. Over 500 organizations, including the Port Authority of NY and NJ, which manages and maintains the bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, and seaports that are essential to the bi-state region’s trade and transportation capabilities, have joined this effort,” according to the union website. SWAC also requires a background investigation by the government, so if construction, port workers, longshoremen, and truck drivers are involved in political activity frowned upon by the feds – for instance, 9/11 truth, considered dangerous and subversive by the State Department – it is likely they will have to find another line of work. that is some scary shit right there, almost as scary as the shit fixin to go down in North Korea. |

m_astera User ID: 1199850 Venezuela 12/18/2010 11:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | On the piss test: In 1987 I took a contract to install some machinery at a lumber mill in Oregon. I wasn't an employee, just taking a check from them. I found out from the workers there that they were under constant threat of losing their jobs if they failed a piss test for drugs. Meanwhile, every Friday afternoon everyone who worked in the office got drunk as a skunk with the owner and top managers. One of the workers at the mill was someone I knew from a different mill I had worked at years before. He told me that since starting working at this place he had gotten into a pretty serious alcohol problem. Told me he hadn't done anything but smoke pot for the previous ten years, but since that was now forbidden to him, he came in most days with a hangover, not to mention the money he pissed away in the bars. I finished that contract and made a vow that I would never take a piss test just for a paycheck, and I never did. Or work for anyone who asked their people to. A couple of years later I was in a Burger King and saw a sign that said "All Employees Must Pass A Drug Test As A Condition Of Employment". Like they were bragging to the public how clean their employees were. My reaction was to take my business elsewhere. If it was about safety, then people would be tested for alcohol or pharmaceutical drugs too. It's not about safety, it's about conditioning and degrading the slaves. |

Pffftards User ID: 1032222 United States 12/19/2010 01:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | TWIC is a common identification credential for all personnel requiring unescorted access to secure areas of MTSA -regulated facilities and vessels, and all mariners holding Coast Guard-issued credentials. Individuals who meet TWIC eligibility requirements will be issued a tamper-resistant credential containing the worker's biometric (fingerprint template) to allow for a positive link between the card and the individual. (homeport.uscg.mil) How was TWIC created? Congress directed the federal government, through the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), to issue a biometric security credential to individuals who require unescorted access to secure areas of facilities and vessels and all mariners holding Coast Guard- issued credentials or qualification documents. Controlling access to secure areas is critical to enhancing port security. (homeport.uscg.mil) Who must get a TWIC? Coast Guard-credentialed merchant mariners, port facility employees, long shore workers, truck drivers, and others requiring unescorted access to secure areas of maritime facilities and vessels regulated by MTSA are required to get a TWIC. (homeport.uscg.mil) This TWIC isn't for every single construction site or for every single employer across the nation. It's only for a small portion of employees who work at our ports. They want to make sure the construction workers working at said ports are not some terrorist asshat who will let his terrorist asshat buddies through. [link to www.tsa.gov] Sure, if this spread to burgerflippers, grocery stockers, douchebag lawyers, or other types of jobs we could cry a river. This thread is a classic example of GLP/INfowars disinfo. Take a tiny security issue and make it sound like its coming to your neighborhood and them amp the living shit out of it to fill dead time between elections and doom events. PFFT. |
