For me, my children will be trained first with BB guns at a younger age before moving up to a 22. They will also the different between using a gun to protect their lives vs protecting insignificant property, especially at their age. They will also know not put their damned finger on the trigger unless they are planning to put a hole on whatever is behind the sights. They will know that if they intend to use the weapon in a hostile situation that they will need more than two god ***** bullets! I can continue but I will just leave it at that.

Honestly, if 3 young males invade a home, a young girl is just an added bonus to the loot. It'll just take them a little longer to get to your television.

It's better to give them the tools to protect themselves and know what the consequences for failing to do so than risk coming home to a blood soaked mattress.

my 7 year old daughter has the same rifle. Not to take away from the little girls bravery. But what a crappy rifle to try to defend a home with. Single shot and not easy at all to load another round quickly. She got lucking she didnt have to shoot. Becuase if she hit one, the other two would have beat the shit out of her.
