Has NOAA or any other weather/climate organization done serious research about the relation of weather patterns to the solar cycle???

It seems totally plausible. I can't find too much info on it asides from a few theories that sound very legit but aren't back by any 100% solid scientific evidence. If they really are linked that closely just imagine the climate and weather forecasting breakthroughs that we could discover.
