You need wickless flameless candles! They last forever and you can use them over and over again. I've had mine for a year and still going strong :)Wax never dissolves and uses a light bulb to heat! BEST candle ever seriously :) [link to taratamayo.scentsy.us]

Candles -

Michaels arts and crafts - used to have great monthly coupons. Now my local michael's honors competitors coupons. Anyway - use them to buy candles that are on sale. I've gotten some great deals.

Also - in my area - after hurricane prep season passes - I get emergency candles for cheap.

It is just something I keep an eye out for.
Personal responsibility - try it sometime. Quit blaming others for your bad choices. Consequences happen.

I use a headlamp with rechargeable batteries for convenience.

AND I have a bunch of flashlights that I turn a handle to charge them. No batteries needed.

This might sound weird, but Novena candles are a great deal.
If you're not familiar with them, they are the religious candles used by Catholics. Primarily Latino Catholics.

They sell them at Walmart, they come in a tall glass container and will burn for days. I'd say at least 30hrs of burn time per jar.

They cost about $2. They do come in plain glass, if you are weirded out by having the "El Sagrado Corazon de Jesus" image on your candles. LOL

I buy tealight candles and these Novena candles that Azul is talking about.

You can get them at Walmart or at local grocery stores if they have a "Hispanic" section.

You can get all sorts of religious figures for your SHTF candles lol

In Post hurricane power outage we needed candles for six weeks. The best and safest is to buy candles that are inside a tall glass container, making sure that your candles are at lease 2 or more inches thick, and at least 8 inches tall. You can buy these hurricane candles ready made, or make up your own.
