I missed it, rats. Heard her say that before but would like to hear it again.

We'll probably find the segment on youtube. But I'd love to know if her remarks are going to tank the muni market tomorrow.

Meredith Whitney's remarks will NOT tank the market ... but they are accurate.

She is a good researcher and good analyst who says things that most of The Street does NOT want to hear if that is what her data shows.

Meredith Whitney called the CMO implosion before it became apparent to most others, and was totally ignored.

"IF" we end up in a War with NK though the Muni Bond Implosion may be the least of our worries.

I watched it. I wasn't surprised. And people are going to be saying "Happy New Year" Yeah right. Everything is going to Hell.

Basically she said that the states have dug themselves into a hole and it is only a matter of time for the defaults to really hit. Unless the states get serious about drastically cutting spending there is no way out.

Watched it and since I have been studying Washington State's emergency Supplemental budget, which wiped out human services to the poor and education cuts for K-12 and higher education, among other items, then just 4 days ago the Gov. released the proposed budget which included every item mentioned in this piece on 60 minutes, I believe Meredith Whitney hit the nail on the head. I've never seen a state like Washington cut such services as was done in the last 2 weeks, and with no news coverage at all. Just waiting for January 1, 2011 when much of the cuts begin.

You're right. My favorite was the women who thought she didn't have to worry about paying her mortgage because Obama got elected. When asked where Obama was going to get the money to give her she said "I don't know. Its Obama money!" Yeah, a rude awakening awaits here and all the other "people" who voted for him!

We're about to find out we don't have anywhere near enough to stop the looting and marauding hordes that will go nuts when the music stops.
