The propaganda film Sicko, which extols communist healthcare, was banned in Cuba:
lol oh the irony

Castro's government apparently went on to ban the film because, the leaked cable claims, it "knows the film is a myth and does not want to risk a popular backlash by showing to Cubans facilities that are clearly not available to the vast majority of them." … The memo points out that even the Cuban ruling elite leave Cuba when they need medical care.

Re: The propaganda film Sicko, which extols communist healthcare, was banned in Cuba:
Bump from the grave for more discussion.

This is funny stuff, y'all. Castro loves it when it's put out there to embarrass the US, but he can't back up the blatant propaganda, so he can't even let his own people see a film praising the virtues of the glorious revolution, because there would be a very different kind of revolution. One that would end with himself and all of his thugs and enablers swinging from every available palm tree in Havana.

Here's what health care in Cuba REALLY looks like, and what the oppressed Cuban people have had to endure at the hands of this murderer for generations.

Does that change the fact that millions in the USA have no access to health care, or sell everything to pay for chronic/terminal conditions.

Wow. A hero who spews propaganda on behalf of cruel, vicious dictators, huh? What a warped sense of reality.

And to the poster below this moran, we can debate the merits of the American system, but you can't argue that the Cuban system is superior.

OK, so everybody has free access to squalor. Great for them. I'm sure, given the chance to pay a visit to the worst public shithole hospital in America, they'd take it over the nightmare that you should really take a look at in my first post.

Again, this isn't about whether we want Cuban health care in America. It's about the standards of care and quality of facilities, equipment, medicine, personnel. Cubans starve in their hospitals and have to wait months for an aspirin.

It's also about Castro being a liar, hypocrite, and murderous dictator.

When was the last time you waited for an aspirin?

Not true.

"Contrary to a claim made in a leaked US diplomatic cable whose contents we reported, Sicko – a documentary by film-maker Michael Moore – was not banned in Cuba. The film, which examines US healthcare through comparisons with some countries' publicly funded systems, including Cuba's, was in fact shown in film theatres throughout the island and on national TV (Cuba 'vetoed' healthcare film, 18 December, page 7)."

Mike Moore simply holds microphone to listen, and holds up a mirror (camera) that reflects visions of us -and what we do.

This creates a wave of "American Denial" - causing many to spew out accusations of him being a "communist", which is our answer to any thoughts of positive change

Its all about apathy in our country -hide behind laptops.

You're posting Cuban government websites as sources? Should've stuck with UK Guardian, mate.

Here's the thing: It may HAVE actually been screened in Cuba. By Cuban government officials and regime sympathizers. The fact remains, the conditions of the Cuban health care system are deplorable. Even a friend of Castro like yourself can't really think that the average Cuban has access to the care depicted as typical in Sicko.

You don't, right?

My source didn't shop those pictures, and your source is trying to get off on a technicality that the movie was seen in Cuba.

As always, the devil's in the details, and the details in this case, are that normal Cubans didn't see the movie.

Again, this is all sort of beside the point. Do you think Sicko portrays an accurate picture of health care in Cuba?
