FCC approves plan to regulate internet....Breaking now
[link to www.foxnews.com]

Lawmakers in both parties have been arguing for months that Congress, not the Obama administration, should take the lead role in deciding whether and how much to police the web. But despite a brief backing-off earlier in the year, the FCC has pushed ahead with its new regulatory plan.

This is not good for anyone but the ones who want to control information.

This is no better than book burning.

from link:

"The rules would require broadband providers to let subscribers access all legal online content" and now the government has control over what they want to be considered legal. Next it will the cost. The company that sides with the government will be given total access and the others will slowly be pushed out of business. Since the government has control over about 90% of the media they have to gain control over the internet to block the truth from getting out. Welcome to China."

History:

Every time that information was freely accessed by the masses was followed by education and having free access to that information resulted in a improvement in the quality of life and a government that worked for the people.

Every time that information was controlled was followed by oppression, aggression, hunger, and death by the hands of the ones that wanted to control you, as proven by historical records, mostly by government actions.

Every government that withheld or controlled the information eventually was shown to be disregarding the people in the name of self-preservation, in the name of maintaining power.

Historical facts.

This is a conspiracy and most have no clue.

The Internet does not belong to the government.

It is a series of privately owned connections to create a worldwide net of networks.

What authority does our stupid government have over the Internet as a whole?

Time to create Internet 2.0 --- for and by the people.

Bastards.

Statement from one of the dissenting FCC Commissioners..

I keep returning to what should be a threshold question: Why does the FCC plan to intervene in a rushed manner, days before the year's end, in the one sector of the economy that is working so well to create consumer choice, jobs and entrepreneurial opportunity? Until we can answer that, I hope my colleagues will stand down and allow Congress to take the lead on these issues. The Internet will be open on Wednesday with or without our action; we have the time to do it right.

Obama decided to do this before Wikileaks, he says he controls the FCC by the way. We all know he cannot stand certain people on tv or otherwise so this is his way of showing his power over what he does not like.
