Are you fucking serious?
If you read the link you will realise that the pope refers to society's morals as decaying. As a result pedophilia is seen as less of a crime by society, which isn't surprising since the advent of drug addiction since the 1960s.

You do realize that before the turn of the century (1900) in the USA you could walk into a pharmacy and buy just about any drug you wished. Drug addiction started back when ANY addictive drugs were discovered. It's just human nature of a certain percentage of the population to become addicts. Alcohol has been around longer than recorded history. And alcoholics about the same amount of time. Again, a certain percentage of a population will become alcoholics. I would say that a certain percentage of these addicts find dealing with reality so painful that they actually SEEK ways to numb that pain.
