Are Our Souls Trapped On Earth?

I have given a lot of thinking about this. Recently the report of ghosts sighting have increased dramatically. I believe ghosts are an impression on us, the humans. I believe that just before we die, our mind will create an image and thus our soul will temporary manifest into those images of ourselves. And after that, the image will move on to another space or dimension.

But I can't understand why are more and more souls unable to "move on"? Something or someone is keeping them here. I think that some governments have long figured out what souls are and how they can contol them. Some how using electromagnetic technology to trap them here from moving on. Why? Maybe for their future use as slaves?

If this is true, then we are in very very serious trouble. I used to think that we will only be free after we passed away. But from what I am observing now, this may not be the case. I am starting to think we maybe here for a very long time whether you live or die.

Ghosts are ectoplasmic residue of our body, shaped with the form of our astral body. But not "right before we die". This image is built along the life. What keeps certain dead people in the third dimension, after they die, is their ego attached to physical sensations, emotions, passions, hatred... These are very materialist people that can't get over it. Unfortunately the Western culture uses to bury dead people in graveyards, what it's a gigantic stupidity, 'cause most of these former personalities, is still here until the body fully decomposes. That's why Asian civilizations burn their dead people. To help the former personality on getting stuck here and to set them free to next lives.

Buddhists obviously believe that some disciplined 'effort' is required to escape the cycle of endless reincarnations.

It seems to be less a case of imprisonment, however (by some external force) and more a case of personal attachment to the things of this world.

no. we are not trapped here...the choice to reincarnate on this world, or another, is solely up to the individual soul.
