Baptism by the Holy Spirit is a wonderful thing. It happened to me also, but not in a church, in the privacy of my own bedroom while deep in prayer, I asked for it specifically and it happened. I was a little scared of what would happen, and the Lord knew this, so instead of a Holy Spirit explosion, it was a very gentle loving touch and I felt a warm sensation come over me. I heard the words "Part your lips" and I did, and 2 words came out of my mouth that said "Abba Father". It was not me that said it, it was completely involuntary. I fell asleep shortly afterwards.

The next morning, I remembered it, and I thought, that was strange, I wonder what it meant? So, I googled Abba Father and this is what I found.

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’ it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him." (Romans 8:14-17, NRSV; cf. Gal. 4:5-6)

When I read that, my mouth fell open, I had no idea! Apparently Abba is Aramaic for the word father. I've never heard those 2 words before! It was completely involuntary. I was blown away and broke down and sobbed over it. He had heard me.

Since it happened, I feel different. I hear words from the Lord almost on a daily basis and I'm seeing visions too. They are wonderful messages of encouragement, hope and love, not doom and gloom.

I believe the Lord has recently led me to a house of worship where they call on the name of Yahweh and Yahshua, they observe the Sabbath and worship on the sabbath, and they speak in tongues and are on fire with the Holy Spirit, and they do not celebrate the "christian" pagan holidays.

I'm going to go on saturday to check it out.

Anyway, I hesitated posting my experience here because I don't want anyone to think I'm bragging or tooting my own horn because nothing could be further from the truth. I'm posting it because I want everyone to know that this baptism by Holy Spirit is available to everyone, they just have to ask and seek Him in humble sincere prayer.

I really believe we have some really dark and troubling days ahead, and everyone needs to draw as close to the Lord as you possibly can. I want to help be an encouragement to others, so I'm posting my experience for that reason alone.

The Lord is waiting to hear from all of His children, He wants everyone to come to Him.

You had a wonderful experience.

Remember that full immersion water baptism is not optional, it is commanded. Jesus had a baptism which was an example for us. Even Israel had to go through a baptism when they crossed the Red Sea.
