Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? If Someone Accidently Transfered $100K To Your Bank Account and Later Want It Back. Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? Quoting: JVC 1117361Yes, but they may sue you...I had, over several years, many deposits to my checking account that were not made by me...I told the bank about it and they said they would have to charge me to figure out the problem and that I could keep the money...so I kept it. i have also deposited money in another person's account to make a NSF good so I could collect on the bad check they wrote me...hehe Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? No not if they sent it themselves then its yours. If it was an unauthorized transfer through illegal activity then it will be taken back. Or if the bank did it by mistake don't even think about withdrawing it because you will get criminal charges. |

Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? NO! You could be charged with theft if you took the money and kept it. Banks make posting errors all the time. People occasionally will see a 3 or 5 million dollar deposit post to their account and then a few days later, the bank reverses the entry and it comes out. No harm, no foul. However, if you were to drain the account and take off for South America, you'd better be prepared to be hunted down by the CIA and the FBI for the rest of your days (depending on how much money is involved.) Of course, some plastic surgery, and there are rumored to be docs who can change or alter fingerprints, too. So if you were determined to do so, you could probably become a new person and keep the money. Who knows? |

Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? What I would do is this. Instantly apply for one of those credit cards that are approved in 2 hours and put the $100G down as collateral. You could get a loan for $50G using it. By the time the error is found out it doesn't matter. You've got yourself a credit card with $50,000 on it. Go spend it have a good time and apply for bankruptcy when it's all used up. OR be responsible and use it wisely. Either way, win win. |

Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? You cannot refuse as you know it was a mistake. The same as for example the mailman delivered on accident a stereo at your address - then too you must return it when requested. |

Can You Refuse To Give Him Back? It's no different from the parking lot attendant accidentally giving you the keys for the brand new Mercedes parked right next to your 1995 chevy mini van. Does the fact the parking lot attendant gave you the keys for the Mercedes now mean YOU OWN that Mercedes? Heck no ... It was a mistake and YOU know it. (and if you actually take that Mercedes you have just committed theft ... ditto money accidentally put into your bank account) fwiw I was accidentally $750,000 richer for about 3 days because of such a mistake. It took them that long to figure out who's money it really was even though I called them right away. |
