It was good about 20-30 years ago, but today there is much better stuff on the market. Alot of the self adhesive tiles sold today are very resistant to staining or discoloration. Me, personally, I would replace said floor with ceramic tile, but if money is an issue - go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some of the newer "laminate" self adhesive tiles - they don't cost that much. Rip up the old linoleum floor, clean it good and put down the new tiles. It's pretty easy and most of the new tiles you get can be cut with heavy duty scissors. |

But it would probably melt the linoleum. You can get boxes of adhesive backed tile for about $10 at the Family Dollar Store. With two boxes, I did a bathroom and a kitchen in about two hours. Easy. You can get great real tile at Home Depot or Lowe's, cheap. The wood laminates are also cheap to do a small room. You will thank yourself everyday for doing new. **** PEACE **** UFO's @ [link to www.youtube.com] UFO photos & phenomena @ [link to www.picasaweb.google.com] MY GLP VIDEO CHANNEL * [link to video.godlikeproductions.com] [link to www.futurequake.bravehost.com] |

Making a joke of it all makes it seem not so bad. Will look into the laminate & the painting & all the cleaning, actually will look into ALL of it, start with the easiest cheapest thing and work my way up. I may end up with the torch after all is said & done. Thanks you wonderful GLPers. |

If the floor is worth saving...it is probably coated in old wax. Strip it with Amonia...Bleach it....Scrub it with soap and water...rinse it well...(use good industrial cotton mop found at home depo for this)...dry..and wax with a professional wax. Keep on it!
