Why does it suck more than working any other fucking day?
What is the big deal what is the difference?
You know 1 billion + people in China don't even think its the real new year?
What is so special about this one day, like all the other so called special days we get told to think are special?

nothing is inherently bad or good, negative or positive. It is only our desire, our ego, which places such things. do not think it is either bad, or good you are working on new years day or eve. just that you are working.

I had to work Christmas eve and Christmas day, only good thing about it was it was double and a half time. Almost two grand for two days but I would rather have been off. I'm off this weekend but im on call, so no getting drunk

i worked practically every New Years Eve from 90-91 through 08-09....5pm to 3 am shift....

oh my goodness be lucky you only work 2 pm to 10 pm, you can party and drink after work enjoy the new year be out till 4 am and still have a good time. I have to work 4 pm to 4 pm on both new years eve and new years day.

The railroad doesn't shut down
I have to work from 3pm to 11pm on new years eve. (because of damn amtrak)...I sit there and run a railroad that is 400 miles away from me.
