I'm of mixed opinion here - I can see so many sides to this it leaves my head spinning.
We are a community here- and those who are openly different are subject to scrutiny, ranging from curiosity to scorn. As they say you cannot please everyone.
Nikki had a terrible time when she first came here, but has ridden out the storm and gained friendships despite all that.
Just as you have the right to your life and individual choices- they have the right to react to the person they see before them. Who can say what those reactions are based upon- there are women here who have suffered horrible abuse at the hands of those they love and they could perhaps be triggered by some of the things you say and present.
While you choose your life and are happy in it, they were not so lucky and i can see how they could want to "save" you from yourself as it were....
There are others who will reject you based upon their personal beliefs in religion, societal place etc... Humans are endless in our contrivances to divide ourselves from one another and have someone to be "better" than

Again , for me it all comes down to living life the best way I can for myself and my family. Period.

My life has not been a conventional one , though perhaps not as unconventional as yours - and I am fairly open about who I am and how I feel on most topics so I know there will be those who would judge me but I refuse to let that determine who I am or how I live.

What are these strong feelings based upon? Most people know very little about it, let alone have any personal experience with it.

TPE is like being gay 30 years ago- people railed against it because they just didn't know anything about it.


Hell darlin, I didn't say I had strong feelings about it but as evidenced, many do. I always adhere to the 'I don't give a fuck what others do, as long as it doesn't interfere with my happiness' rule.

In any case, why do people have strong feelings about anything. We don't know, it just is. We all have our individual ideology.

Though I do agree that in a forum such as this, when personal information is so flagrantly tossed about, that a bit of chiding is in order. This is precisely what happens when you put it all out there. You know we get attacked for just about anything, around here. Why would your situation be exempt? Particularly when it's such a taboo subject.
