Ben Franklin, ignorant of lightning's characteristics, could have gotten killed, flying a kite in storm. He was very lucky. But his dangerous experiment proved a connection between lightning and static electricity.

Correct for sure!!! Ben Franklin was one of the founding fathers and he's the one who instigated "Day Light Savings Time"as well...

3/11 spring forward..11/4 fall back...oddly enough..

Living in Texas, I have experienced the 'green' glow effect during weather that can produce hail storms. It is consistent enough that I will move my cars inside when I notice the greenness.

The green is not coming from a light source, it could really be described as more of a glow or a property of the air at that time. Usually the sky is very overcast, so no direct sunlight. The clouds will appear dark or black, but looking around, you will see a slight hue of green to the air.

This explanation would indicate that you are inside a ground level aurora.

In nuclear DNA, 95% of its 3+ billion base pairs is most commonly known as "junk" DNA because it doesn't code for any of the proteins we need to survive.
