Medicine Wheel as an Introspection Tool is a symbol of symmetry and balance
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15997964

motion is the sign

1. A weighing device, especially one consisting of a rigid beam horizontally suspended by a low-friction support at its center, with identical weighing pans hung at either end, one of which holds an unknown weight while the effective weight in the other is increased by known amounts until the beam is level and motionless.
2. A state of equilibrium or parity characterized by cancellation of all forces by equal opposing forces.
3. The power or means to decide.
4.
a. A state of bodily equilibrium: thrown off balance by a gust of wind.
b. The ability to maintain bodily equilibrium: Gymnasts must have good balance.
5. A stable mental or psychological state; emotional stability.
6. A harmonious or satisfying arrangement or proportion of parts or elements, as in a design. See Synonyms at proportion.
7. An influence or force tending to produce equilibrium; counterpoise.
8. The difference in magnitude between opposing forces or influences.
9. Accounting
a. Equality of totals in the debit and credit sides of an account.
b. The difference between such totals, either on the credit or the debit side.
10. Something that is left over; a remainder.
11. Chemistry Equality of mass and net electric charge of reacting species on each side of an equation.
12. Mathematics Equality with respect to the net number of reduced symbolic quantities on each side of an equation.
13. A balance wheel.
 Quoting: balance

maybe we require a new definition of balance in respect of motion of a non mechanical kind

I feel there's much confusion involved in our actual history due to changing national names, not looking at the "big picture". Our history seems to begin in one small region, pretty much equivalent to the areas we now travel state to state. Legends, myths blending as our ancestors traded along the silk road. Add to that the Abrahmaic twist put on most things, assuming they're the true and only progntinters because that's what the prevailing Biblical mythology wants us to believe. But it was a small world then, just as it's a small world now.

The world according to the ancients...

And why do we ignore the other deluge myths and say Noah's and his kin were the only survivors? Is it because we're conditioned to accept that as truth or because we're afraid of what we'll find when we dig a bit deeper? Who loses what if no one's "chosen"? Here's a list of flood myths with various survivors completely unconnected to Noah's brood.

If you call pulling my head out of the good stuff due to technical difficulties a holiday, lmao. My computer fritzed, I have issues with blowing stuff up, so I've spent the past few days in my "techie" mode which differs diametrically from my "normal" personality... and still haven't fixed the issue. So I've called a truce with myself today, climbed on my backup laptop and will go into "techie" mode once more tomorrow. Were I a richer woman I'd toss it in the trash and go buy me the alienware I'm lusting for... but alas, that's not to be, lol... so fix it it is, when I can deal... which isn't today. Such is life. I'm not complaining, it could be worse... I've got the skills, just not the patience.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15340452

Astronomers have found the brightest and youngest example yet of a fast-spinning star, suggesting that the extremely luminous versions of these super-dense objects may be far more common than thought...

:fermipulsar:

..The pulsar's extreme brightness and youth challenge current ideas about how super-bright millisecond pulsars form and how widespread they may be, researchers said...

...When a mass as great as our sun's is packed into a space the size of a city, the conserved angular momentum causes the resulting neutron star to spin very rapidly and to emit a ray of high-energy light that sweeps around like a lighthouse beam.

[link to www.youtube.com]

This light appears to pulse because astronomers see the beam only when it's pointed at Earth. "Normal" pulsars rotate at a rate between 7 and 3,750 revolutions per minute, but millisecond pulsars can spin much faster — up to 43,000 rotations per minute...

J1823-3021A also appears to have a much stronger magnetic field than other millisecond pulsars. The exotic object's combination of characteristics is likely to have astronomers scratching their heads, Freire said.

..."It challenges the way we believe millisecond pulsars form," he said. "It was not thought that, for the spin period of this object (5.44 ms), they could be so energetic and have such a high magnetic field."...

...The researchers aren't yet sure whether millisecond pulsar formation theories will need a tweak or a serious overhaul.

"We are currently investigating a number of possibilities," study co-author Michael Kramer, director of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy, said in a statement. "Nature might even be forming millisecond pulsars in a way we have not anticipated."

I suspect the history of certain peoples are hidden to either deny us our heritage or protect us, I haven't decided which yet. But it does seem suspect that those who originated outside the middle east are indoctrinated to heed a foreign deity... and called "gentile" to boot. Even more suspect that the matriarch of the Northern Caucasus peoples name is Satanaya and many of their myths run parallel to European AND Middle Eastern myths... really contentious divorce, maybe? I think the most horrible thing we inherited from the Abrahamic bunch is the concept of guilt and original sin... one reason I refuse to heed it and take the word gentile as the ultimate insult.

Or that history was forgotten. I think the old ones were supposed to pass the knowledge to the young and maybe disease, war, or what not kept it from happening...that's where I lean right now. Could of been hidden though. Like some Native American families that looked more white or had white members changed names or said they were white and buried their native blood because of the repercussions(for an example).
Yeah, got to question when a bunch thinks they are above others. And it's mind boggling how many people think that way, whether its blood, wealth, belief...uggh!

Agreed, we're all similar, unique, beautiful, flawed, perfect in our imperfections... they're what make us interesting, the individuation. If we were all the same it would be boring, but similar and equal? Yup... I won't buy into any all encompassing manifesto, mind you... that's just me, one of my quirks, don't judge others who do. I suspect it's because of my magnificent bastard of uncertain ancestry status. I used to mourn not knowing, but I'll say it again... there's a certain freedom in not knowing. I kind of like the mystery, keeps me open and digging in diverse directions. Maybe that was the point in this incarnation.

On a more whimsical note... was talking to a friend today about the awesomeness of Smedley Butler... and we decided that maybe Ron Paul's his reincarnation. I don't really believe it, but you know that eight impossible things before breakfast thing I've got. Blame it on my unique form of whimsical fuckery, lol.
