Came around it in an off way...In looking at the history of our ancestors and attempting to find out WHY were given the opportunity to learn from the annihilation of the native American Indian tribes and then the savagery of slavery with the African American race and how those lessons tie into the legends of the white buffalo woman.

It wasn't the Lakota but the a small tribe of Apache (small tribe which was peaceful and more creator/love based) that she actually made her presence known to. If you really look at more of the legends about her, more of them talk about the ancestral guilt that is still held by today's Lakota for hiding their true past (about their slaughter of that sacred tribe as well as the pure buffalo) which does sort of muck up the lessons she came to teach in the first place....

It's the one constellation in the stars that the meanings are a bit cloudy? Hera is said to have bestowed the honor of the lion to the sky for her guilt over it's death.

A way to pay for the "sins" of the fathers perhaps?

Anyway...it's not wonder all these stories/legends/myths have connections in them that people are JUST NOW starting to SEE and FEEL...
