As for the Higg's smash two protons together and I predict a higher mass particle will be found as well, since velocity increases energy which creates a temporary or apparent increase in mass. Which then decays back into its basic constituents, protons. And maybe a few electrons were accelerated as well, after all it IS a particle accelerator and who knows how many other things were accelerated along with the protons considering there is no place free of atoms, i.e. a perfect vacuum. This test has been done how many times to even catch a glimpse of this elusive particle? Seems to me 10,000 negative results and one maybe positive result done with statistics might tell you statistically you are on the wrong track.
