The Methane gas it's killing them, Chile had an earthquake yesterday and 3 days ago dead birds as well, the methane is flowing thru the cracks in earth.

:flicmybic:

I was thinking along the same lines. And apparently there is a volcano is Arkansas, possibly emitting poisonous toxins that killed the birds?

But why is just the blackbirds (and starlings) ??
Why not the other birds as well?
What's with the blackbirds with the red feathers..... weird man. Really weird.

Trinity better get the HO-Railway outta Destin, Florida like yesterday. I believe the die off is a result of the after effects of the BP Oil spill. The birds just happen to be an early warning signal.

Okay, so one hypothesis would be that these events are happening along fault lines where methane gas is leaking through the cracks. That makes sense. I guess the fish dying off in the Arkansas river could be from underground water being contaminated with methane and then getting into the river. The bad weather (tornadoes included) in that area lately could have something to do with it too.
Only thing is, the lab reports are claiming the birds were actually hit by something. Anybody understand how that could fit in with the methane explanation for it?
I believe glp-ers can solve this!

Downwind from Arkansas??

[link to www.msnbc.msn.com]

It is no coincidence that Pine Bluff Chemical Weapons Arsenal is 57 miles southwest of where this flock of 2,000 birds mysteriously dropped from the sky. Surface level winds as well as winds at 3,000 feet were blowing from the southwest to the northeast, precisely in a straight line from Pine Bluff Arsenal to the town of Beebe, AR where this happened. 6 weeks ago, the Army reported to the media that they had completed a 2 year project of burning nerve and mustard gas agents in an open air incinerator, however toxic waste disposal is expected to take until 2013. Until 6 weeks ago, this facility held 12% of all the chemical weapons possessed by the United States.

Is it possible that something went wrong or was accidentally released during the final stages of the cleanup process?

That explanation seems a lot more likely than the one being given by the media that 2,000 birds were scared to death by fireworks. If that was the case, then millions of birds would be dropping dead in every city across the United States every July 4th or New Years.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1215593

Sorry guy, no one would waste their energy or nanobots in pursuit of killing the human race. You'll know when nanobot technology is fully functionally because the elite will all leave the planet in groves to start a new world without all of the people they believe are unworthy. Either that or they'll just kill most of us with physical brutality and hunt the minority down for sport. Whoever makes it after that will end up in a zoo, brave new world style.

[link to www.presseportal.de] (german)

Finding about 50 dead birds is one thing...they could have drank from the same toxic dump or some shit.

but when we got 5,000 dead in a small area...thats something. and fish in the same area as well.

Louisiana is a bit startling because its the same type of bird that died just a significantly smaller group.

Sure, just thought i´d mention it, also it´s deep winter here, most birds are in Africa...

Re: WTF? More Dead Birds This Time In Louisiana!
Has anyone made a map and time line for these events?

It seems to have started with a major storm system that passed over the area.
Im not making any hypothesis here but it is a helluva time of year to get caught in the sky with a system like that coming thru. Vicious updrafts that can exceed 100 knots...major hail potential and a VERY cold system. A bird/flock could be literally sucked up into one of these, battered by hail, frozen solid and then plummet to the ground..where they land frozen and break.

But that doesnt explain the fish....
 Quoting: RememberThis

Those storms all originated in the Gulf area. Stirred up the poison and carried it north. I'm in Ohio.... we didn't get any of those storms, thank God !!!!

The pelicans in NC were mutilated by mankind. Link on another recent thread.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 900755

[link to www.carteretnewstimes.com]

December 22, 2010 3:05 PM EST

TOPSAIL ISLAND – Over 100 dead pelicans have been found along the beaches of Topsail Island within the past month with injuries that suggest they were intentionally killed.

“I don’t believe they died naturally,” said North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Law Enforcement Officer Doug Jones.

The birds have been mutilated and harmed in such ways as being stabbed, cut, shot, tendons sliced, decapitated and their wings cut off.

“These are not accidental deaths,” said Jones. “They are malicious and deliberate.”

....

A few dead pelicans have been found as far north as Atlantic Beach and as far south as Oak Island but the majority have been located at the northern end of Topsail Island.

“The greatest concentration of birds have been found north of the SeaView Pier in North Topsail Beach,” said Woody.

While finding a few dead pelicans during the winter months is common, the numbers that are currently being found are outside of the range of what is normal.

Woody said that anywhere between 15 and 30 birds are found each year that have died due to accidental causes such as encounters with fishing vessels or nets.

“It’s escalated tremendously. It’s taking place offshore and they are coming in with the current and the tide,” said Woody.

Authorities are also worried about the impact the deaths will have on the nesting season.
