Injuries after explosion at Oakland, Tennessee munitions plant

One person is trapped after the Kinematics Research plant in Oakland, Tennessee exploded around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Oakland Police Chief Rick Jewell said the extent of the victim's injuries is unknown. A firefighter was also injured, and transported to a local hospital.

At 2:15 p.m., Jewell said munitions inside the plant were continuing to explode.

The plant is in the 190 block of Bowers Rd. According to its website, Kinematics Research manufactures amunition.

Emergency crews are currently on the scene. So far, there's no word on what caused the blast.
