Dude, you rock! You should have a fan club - or run for office some level. You got skills.

No, I'm just like you, work everyday.
And the day will come when you and I will be able to change things. Just be patient and prepare.
And say what you believe.

On the same page.
Only don't say much of what I believe anymore.
DHS house calls don't mix well with wife and kids.
No idea the Police State we are in. No idea.
It's all gonna come down. THAT is the plan.

You know that quote, "we hang together or we hang alone"
The people are not yet quite ready to hang together. And
Hanging alone requires lawyers and money to cut you down.

Good to know you.

Eloquent sentiments.
I do know about the police state and I've had house calls. But I wonder how they will be able to make 300 million house calls when this unsustainable economy collapses and people are out in the streets?
Take care and do what is right.

...
Fucking idiot. It's based on economy, you dumbass. A bunch of people lost their jobs and lost their homes. Many illegals came here getting free healthcare and stealing a lot of resources to teach illegal kids! It has nothing to do with Republicans, you fucking moron.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1192748

Yes, I expect if they could refocus on just the legal students with legal parents, things would go much easier in the schools, they could fire a lot of particular staff people, and the budget would magically balance.

But there are federal laws to prevent that of course.

Stand up and recognize illegals put in trillions to the US economy and help keep your Social Security afloat. That doesn't mean they should be here, but they sure help us out and make a hella breakfast taco....

this just in.... (from a fellow Republican)

AUSTIN, Texas (AP)–A report by the top financial officer of Texas claims illegal immigrants are more a boon to the Lone Star State’s economy than a drain, adding another layer to the immigration reform debate.

Texas Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn found that illegal immigrants not only contributed more than $17 billion to the state’s economy in the last fiscal year, but that they also pay more than enough in taxes and fees to cover the services they receive.

Good information. Thanks for posting.

Too bad so many of the posters here are too blinded by their own racial biases to see this for what it is- the facts.

So, all those businesses Texas is luring away from Calif and other states---I wonder just how long the candy will last til they start getting taxed up the wazoo there, too?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1217735

this is my true story: (famous words on the internet ;) )

i am a texan. many years ago, i was on a flight for las vegas
back to texas. in the seat in front of me, there was a
retired gentleman and his wife from sacremento, ca. southwest airlines had seats
that faced each other. he leaned forward, and said in a very
serious manner:
"how are you weathering this recession?"

this was about 1992 or so and cali was in some sort of
recession. i was self employed and working on contracts
that happened to be for that bigassed electric company
in california. it think it's name is calpine? anyways, i
replied to him:
"what recession? i just finished a big
project from california. apparently businesses in your
state will hire me because i work cheaper. there are NO
state income taxes and social gov't insanity in TEXAS.
since your people have voted for such things YOU are in
a recession, not texans."

he was somewhat gruff afterwards and very well should have been
i suppose. i have no animosity towards socialists outside
of texas, i just prefer their socialist asses to stay
in their own state(s).

true story.

Re: WTF !! TEXAS : THE HUGE STATE BUDGET CRISIS NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT !!
YOUR FACTS ARE WRONG:

8.75% is the average and they vary up to 2% by county.

Texas property taxes are some of the highest in the nation.

Balance a $25,000,000,000.00 budget deficit with ease?
That's a slashing of 26% of the entire annual budget.

NO YOUR FACTS are WRONG

8.25% is the limit of State Taxes by the Texas Constitution moron. That number includes city, county, and state taxes... that's the upper limit.

And listen up moran - the entire state budget last session was 182,000,000,000. The projected shortfall is 9 billion. The 26 billion number is an imaginary number dreamed up by DNC shills. Even if your number is right... your facts are wrong again. Besides, that imaginary number was used to scare the public into voting for their progressive stealth candidate Billy White, so that the DNS and their Chicago thugs could impose a State Income Tax and totally wreck the State.

You are right 8.25% not 8.75% - my bad - honest mistake.

Now listen up fuck-face: You live in where did you say, Washington? Oregon? Somewhere up there - so mind your own propaganda. Texasn will NEVER go for a state income tax. STOP IT with your Republicans are good, Democrats are evil bullshit. Your agenda speaks so loudly I can't hear a lie you are telling.

LESSON PLAN FOR fuck-face:

1. Democrats suck (you got that part down).
2. Republicans suck ( you need to learn this part)

Democrats and Republicans are one and the same and there is no difference. California vs. Texas. BOTH broke.

Now go get your head out of your ass and start voting Libertarian.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. Got that? fuck-face.

What the fuck makes you think I didn't vote Liberarian dipshit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1211271

So did I but we should all acknowledge that Texas has been a leader in e-voting = corporate control. The write ins and third party voting seems to be very under counted in Texas - a boatload of people wrote in RP for president.

As to the list of 12 recommendations. I would generally agree except that I think that legal documents need to be printed in the language of the defendant. I would suggest that instead of kicking spanish out of the schools we should make spanish and french a priority and at least two other languages taught from pre -k on so that Americans can easily do commerce and travel throughout the world. I would also suggest reforming temporary workers permits. Believe it or not, in much of the ag rich and population scarce western part of the state(between el paso and the dry line almost) migrant workers are more like neighbors who will help you pick your pecan orchard and they would prefer to go back and forth. Many rural border areas have a hard time getting green cards for ranch hands which is work that would kill most people - for not much money - the eats are usually good, tho. It's comical to think that the government can come up with a one size fits all immigration policy in which Mexico has the same number of visa's as Zambia.... It blows me away that here near the border - enforcement is tough in town and on the roads and the flir helicoptors and the atvs and dogs and.... and then I go to the big cities and realize that the anonymity and lack of any real enforcement in the city seems to be why most people seem to be up in arms about immigration - it's the violent drug gangs that have gotten me armed.

Oh and as to weed legalization - what's next 29.99 red cherry 8 balls of cocaine at the 7-11? Sure there's money in pot but the real money's in heroin, coke, and speed! Make sure we keep hallucinogenics illegal or they'll realize what they're up to....
