You know, astronut, pole flips happened before and they didn't really care about your science nor about your energy calculation.
Quoting: ^àTOn^With all due respect, a physical pole flip would HAVE to "care." It's not going to happen without an event producing energy of that magnitude.
So you want someone coming up with mathematical truth is kind of a thread killing attitude. And it doesn't help either because it does not advance the subject.
Quoting: AtonI disagree. I think it advanced the subject, though perhaps not in the way you would have liked. Math is the language of science. How dare someone use it.
True is also that the pole is moving, normal or not.
Quoting: AtonPhysically? No, not in any significant way.
Here it is, a photo from mid-November of this year.

Astrometry reveals that at 1:1 scale, the image angular resolution is 51.32 arcseconds per pixel:

Polaris coordinates precessed to 2010 are 02h 43m 44.22s, 89d 18' 25.7" so it should have an offset from the north celestial pole of 2494.3 arcseconds. I measure Polaris to be 48.5 pixels offset from the north celestial pole in this image.

That equates to an offset of 2489.02 arcseconds, well within the resolution of the photo itself. It doesn't get more accurate than that using this technique. Conclusion? The north celestial pole is right where it should be.
Quoting: AstronutIt seems true that the earth has some slight (normal) problems with his magnetique field,
Quoting: AtonOk, it seems that you haven't understood what I've meant when I use the term "pole flip." This is not about the magnetic poles or a geomagnetic pole flip which I do not contest we are overdue for.
You got to admit that normal people are getting slightly cautious with scientific guys who want to calculate and do 'testing' while the shtf.
Quoting: atonI wouldn't call them "normal." I'm used to the derision I get from them though.
So we like to start thinking ourselves !
Quoting: atonIf you're "thinking for yourself" about "physical pole shifts" but you're not doing any of those "evil calculations" then you're not going to get very far in finding out the truth. Suit yourself though, no one forced you to read my posts or reply to them.
