To quell some fear, about the magnetosphere.
First let me remind you that nict is just a computer generated simulation on the magnetosphere and does not show the actual magnetosphere and is not in 3D.

As we can see there has been a density spike.
The actual readings can be seen here: [
link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] As Nict take their data from the ACE satellite.
Now 50.2 is still quite moderate, especially considering the following;
The magnetic strength of the solar wind is weak as seen on the BzNT and the ByNT graphs on nict.
The velocity is still low.
This means that the storm strength is still low Kp3-4
So yeah.. no DOOM, sorry guys/gals.
