It wont stop raining here in SE Queensland - more major flooding - evacuations tonight ...

It has been raining here for days and days, non-stop. I am on a range of hills above the worst areas, and just to the south of the huge flooded areas you have seen on the news over the last few days.

The update is this - yesterday and last night, mega-amounts of rain fell in several major local catchment areas, and today a wall of water rushed through the centre of Toowoomba, sweeping cars and people everywhere.

As I sit typing this, people are evacuating their homes in the Esk and Gatton areas, because a wall of water is rushing down towards them, and on towards Brisbane.

Just to the north the town of Gympie is already seriously flooded, and a shit-load more is on its way to them, and then onto already flooded Maryborough at the mouth of the Mary River. Maleny recorded over 330mm of rain yesterday, so they said on the radio today.

Several parts of south east Queensland are reporting land-slips as houses slide down saturated hillsides into their neighbours.

That pretty makes most of Queensland totally flooded and stuffed up for months and years to come.
