Wednesday, 27th July 2005, 09:23 Category: Crime and Punishment LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Four men have been arrested in two raids in the West Midlands in connection with last week´s attempted bomb attacks on London, police revealed this morning.
One man was arrested by police after being shot with a taser stun gun at a house in Heybarnes Road, Hay Mills, Birmingham, at around 4.30am and will be taken to London for questioning.
A suspect package was also found during the raid and the area has been evacuated.
A police statemenat said: The man was tasered during the operation. No firearms were discharged.
"A suspect package was found and as a precautionary measure evacuations have been undertaken in the vicinity."
Three other men were arrested when anti-terror police stormed a house in Bankdale Road, Washwood Heath, Birmingham and are being questioned by West Midlands Police.
Police confirmed both raids were connected with the four attempted bombings in the capital on July 21.
Forensic teams are at both premises
