Strange Rumblings at the Center of our Galaxy

October 18, 2005 - (ACN) On March of this year, physics professor and astronomer Scott Hyman of Sweet Briar College made a startling announcement. Dr. Hyman and his colleagues wrote in the science journal Nature that they had detected something very extraordinary at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. While analyzing low frequency radio wave images taken by the Very Large Array telescope at Socorro, New Mexico in 2002, Dr. Hyman and his his fellow researchers detected an intermittent signal that seemed intelligently directed. The signal consisted of five highly energetic radio emissions of equal brightness that lasted 10 minutes each and appeared every 77 minutes over a 7-hour period from September 30 to October 1. The discovery has left Professor Scott Hyman and the entire astronomy community "scratching their heads".

In Norse mythology the World Serpent (or Midgard serpent) known as Jörmungandr encircled the world in the ocean's abyss biting its own tail.

In Hindu mythology Lord Vishnu is said to sleep while floating on the cosmic waters on the serpent Shesha. In the Puranas Shesha holds all the planets of the universe on his hoods and constantly sings the glories of Vishnu from all his mouths. He is sometimes referred to as "Ananta-Shesha," which means "Endless Shesha". In pre-Columbian Central America Quetzalcoatl was sometimes depicted as biting its own tail. The mother of Quetzalcoatl was the Aztec goddess Coatlicue ("the one with the skirt of serpents"), also known as Cihuacoatl ("The Lady of the serpent"). Quetzalcoatl's father was Mixcoatl ("Cloud Serpent"). He was identified with the Milky Way, the stars and the heavens in several Mesoamerican cultures.

The demi-god Aidophedo of the West African Ashanti is also a serpent biting its own tail. In Dahomey mythology of Benin in West Africa, the serpent that supports everything on its many coils was named Dan. In the Vodou of Benin and Haiti Ayida-Weddo (a.k.a. Aida-Wedo, Aido Quedo, "Rainbow-Serpent") is a spirit of fertility, rainbows and snakes, and a companion or wife to Dan, the father of all spirits. As Vodou was exported to Haiti through the slave trade Dan became Danballah, Damballah or Damballah-Wedo. Because of his association with snakes, he is sometimes disguised as Moses, who carried a snake on his staff. He is also thought by many to be the same entity of Saint Patrick, known as a snake banisher.

The serpent Hydra is a star constellation representing either the serpent thrown angrily into the sky by Apollo or the Lernaean Hydra as defeated by Heracles for one of his Twelve Labours. The constellation Serpens represents a snake being tamed by Ophiuchus the snake-handler, another constellation. The most probable interpretation is that Ophiuchus represents the healer Asclepius.

Before I read any further I would like to stop and ask you for supplying this phonetic pronunciation.

I've always had a hard time with those words with extra 'u's in them, I really appreciate finally having it solved in my mind, kept trying to pronounse all those 'u's and it just doesn't work!

Now, back to our story...

This I had not considered yet, thanks for the info, I'm gonna have to contemplate that one for awhile.

But I go back to that train of thought I was working earlier...

I pronounced it phonetically myself after hearing it, but here is how the Skywatcher's website pronounces it (same thing) OFF-ee-YOO-kuss with the oo sound as in food.

- The staff of Asclepius has been confused with the caduceus, or wand of Hermes, which is a short winged rod with a pair of vipers circling it. The caduceus was the symbol of Hermes, the messenger of the gods, guide of the dead and protector of merchants, gamblers, liars and thieves.

- Ophiuchus is situated on the ecliptic, the path the Sun, Moon, and all the planets follow across the sky. There are 13 constellations that lie on the ecliptic, and the Sun, Moon and planets pass through all of them.

- For some reason astrology only recognizes twelve of these constellations, even though the bodies of our solar system spend more time in Ophiuchus than in many of the other constellations.

- The brightest star in the constellation Ophiuchus is Ras Alhague, which is Arabic for Head of the serpent charmer.

- Situated on the hip of the figure is the star Sabik, The preceding one, but since it is one of the trailing stars in the constellation, it's hard to say what it is preceding.

- The star on the other hip is called Han, whose meaning seems to have become lost over time.

- The star Sinistra means "left hand."

- Yed Prior and Yed Posterior are the front and back of the other hand.

Actually, I watched the movie "Revelation" last night and was stunned to see how the twinning serpent staff figured prominately into their story...at one point it was described as the union of the male (stiff rod) and female (flexible snake) to peform the Great Work.

Fascinating movie, if you haven't seen it you're gonna want to. It was made in 2001, way before the DaVinci code, but it covers the same subject from a slightly different angle. Dan Brown obviously got a lot of ideas from this movie.

Well, I'm just gathering info right now that I *personally* feel is related to the veiling and unveiling of this 13th Sign. I would really appreciate anyone adding pieces or opinions.


Its possible that at some point in the development of our Solar System, our spiritual/physical advancement that was part of a natural cycle in our galactic journey, was *hijacked* by cohorts wanting to stay in control. (Sound familiar?)

In an effort to conceil authentic planetary, solar and galactic movements, the Tropical (Western) Zodiac was created, excluding Ophiuchus the 13th sign, while still giving the "children" something to play with (and confuse).

This sign is suddenly being re-introduced by the mainstream media the last few days. Its relation to the center of our galaxy (the Sun and 2012) makes this unveiling as big a mystery as Ophiuchus itself.
