Kate, I will NEVER forget the day that a Perth division OPP officer could have given me an almost $400 ticket and removed all of the points from my license... but instead chose to tell me that I "could not produce my driver's license," instead incurring a $67 dollar fine, and making it to my exam on time.

There are few things I miss about Ontario, but I'll NEVER forget that cop, and the smile he gave me when a confused, but thankful kid, drove away.

OPP are hardcore. For the US readers they are Ontario's version of State Troopers.

They patrol the Hwy's and act as local police to smaller communties that do not have their own police force. Basically, the community pays them to patrol as its cheaper then having their own police force.

I knew some guys up North years ago, the most straight arrow as they get, would probely write up their own parents for speeding.

I've been seeing more OPP's around the city lately, even saw a few RCMP convoys as well, following and leading black SUVs down the QEW/403 with their cherries going..

All cops are just tools unless they discover their soul, maybe 5% will do so, and these will be forced to choose for the sheeplike ones, or their enforcer clan of police (thin blue line)... It takes huge cajones for any cop to side with truth, and against the authority which holds them.
