For a tiny country as we are, and mostly from germanic origin, we have a great history, especialyy the 17th century, the golden century...

The Dutch people have a history and tradition in inventing and discovery. Dutch scientists and engineers have made a remarkable contribution to human progress as a whole, from something as simple as the sawmill to microbiology and artificial organs.

Well what Americans fail to see is , we europeans hated each other at times , we were allied we were betrayed, we fought and killed and befriended and loved.


No matter what happened in the past we always became stronger and could overcome our differences.

You know they would have won if they had not split their army into three different compartments and instead went head long into Moscow during October. But no Hitler decided to attack Kiev and Leningrad instead. You should read Mannstein's book lost battles it gives a great illustration that Hitler was an ignorant commander and if he let his Generals take over command of the war they would have been fine and won it all.

Who could deny this statement? Its pretty much self evident. It is about as self evident as the fact that Americans are idiots and morons. They have done so many things for the world Germany and although people want to get all over them for WW2 that was but a small part of Germany's history. There have been so many geniuses in Germany's history it is virtually impossible to count them all. Starting from the 14th century onwards Germans was the center and heart of the world when it came to ingenuity and originality. Meister Eckhart, Albert the Great, Grimms Tales, Gutenberg's Printing Press, and Martin Luther. Later on in the 17th century after the political and social situation settled down in Germany after the reformation and 30 year's War Germany's intellectual tradition exploded into a brilliant array of the most brilliant minds known to mankind since the Ancient Greeks. They produced some of the greatest philosophers, mathematicians, artists, musicians, physicists, chemists, scientists, engineers, inventors, psychologists, and poets from the time of the early 18th century to the middle of the 20th century. Overall who can compare to names such as Goethe, Gauss, Beethoven, Kant, Wagner, Winklemann, Heisenberg, Herder, Benz, Liebig, Copernicus, Hegel, Schiller, Jung, and Einstein



Think the British can top any German for achievements both with invention and the arts .
For starters you wouldn't be able to type that here if the British hadn't invented the World Wide Web.

The British invented the TV. The British invented the radio. The British invented the telephone. The British invented the ipod. The British invented the jet engine. The British invented DNA fingerprinting. There is of course a huge list to add to that. If Germany had never existed we'd have had a better time and of course 2 World Wars less, one certainly. If the British had never existed the world would be a far poorer place. And there would be no America of course in any sense of the word you know of today if it weren't for Great Britain. And music, well Britain is right up there. Comedy Britain is right up there. Need I say more.
