Sandi_T User ID: 873093 United States 01/16/2011 07:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So what happens when you've seen it all, done it all, and there's nothing new, exciting, or interesting under the sun anymore? What happens when you've been married to the same person for a thousand years, learned everything you're interested in, and have nothing left to discover that you actually care about anymore? What happens when you've watched all your grandchildren grow up and they're no longer having children because the world is too full of people who never die? What happens when it's all been said, all been done, there are no more babies, no more exciting new places to explore? What happens when you've been working for a thousand years, and all you have ahead of you is thousands of more years of working, being married to the same person, and never seeing another child because the world's critical mass has been passed? Where's the joy in living on for so long that there's nothing new? Where's the joy in never seeing another baby because no one has babies since everyone lives forever and the world can't support trillions? Where's the joy in living forever with the knowledge and memories of all you've done wrong, all the hurts your spouse has inflicted--intentional or not--and all the sorrow of memories of those who died before "eternity" came? No thank you. Not for me. No more requests in the "Strangest things" thread please. :hf: Past Lives requests thread: Thread: That Which Once Was: Past Lives |

Just to leave it all? I dont want theories that we will reincarnate or go to heaven. This is a joke. We end up dead. And life is waaay to short. Quoting: mary 1202966well, next you can realize that nothing ever really dies:) ~*i love you*~ |

Or the idea that, when you die... its like when you are asleep and dreaming and you die in your dream... you wake up. What if when you die, you wake up in another part of life, as if this whole life was a dream you were having while you were asleep. |

No thank you. Not for me. I don't think it is possible to see everything because things change on daily basis, I mean the 70's 80's and 90's were all radically different. Memories fade also and you can learn to forgive and forget. The only problem I have with immortality is if it's widespread since the world can't cope with it at the moment (The only way I can think of that's make it feasible if we could easily colonize space) but I'd be happy to be immortal if it was offered, well as long as it came with eternal youth too I guess. :p |

And how many people believe "things were better"... back then. Back when... whatever. It ceases to be "different" when you get old, and it just becomes "better" because as a child, we're all less stressed and less aware of the darkness in the world. But are people really all that different? Really? Rome had the Colosseum, we have the boob tube. Has it changed all that much, ultimately?
