Why are GERMANS so ARROGANT and disposed to violence?

I've never been spit on in Germany, can't say the same about France. I don't tell people to go to hell, I tell them to go to Paris.

OP, most white Americans have some Germanian blood running thru their veins. At one time Germania ruled most of Europe and other parts overseas. They have an absolutely fascinating history. Look past your bias opinion, and you will discover a truly amazing culture. And considering where the modern German society is rebounding from ( Nazi Germany), they do pretty good, and have a lot to offer the world. There are a lot of really mean people I know that are almost all or are all german. They got tempers on them. That much is true. But all of us white Americans have a little or a lot of German blood in our veins. Their dna was spread around many many moons ago.

So true! I don't care where you are from, so long as you serve some purpose in this life, or at least can refrain from leaching off of the efforts of others. Gov't has turned so many people into parasites whoe expect handouts and no longer want to take responsibility for themselves or their own thoughts. We the people of this world out number the elite. The only thing lacking is the ability or willingness to come together and use our brains for the greater good.

Just to clarify a few things. The English are descendant from the Saxons, a Germanic tribe, and were conquered by the Normans; a Norse colony in France.

Rome was sacked by the Goths, a Germanic tribe from the Baltic, whose descendants, the Visi-goths conquered Spain, Italy and parts of North Africa.

The US almost chose German as their state language because there were so many of them there.

The Norse of course had widespread colonies all over the world including Scotland, Ireland, France, Sicily and Russia.

In other words most of Europe owes it's heritage to the Germanic peoples.

Was reading a fascinating article in Vanity Fair recently about the German banking system and its relationship to the current debacle in Europe.
It mentioned an anal-ysis of the German National Chracter by an academic there which a German banker was very dismissive of until she had a Lightbulb moment.
Goes like this: the Germans are obsessed by cleanliness and order.
BUT at the same time they're obsessed by Scheiss.
Lots of German slang terms for shit.
The author traced it back to an old custom of swaddling infants tightly and not changing the diapers so that the baby would be stuck in its own poo.
German kultur: long periods of holding it all in, followed by massive bowel movements.

I have seen a lot more violent Americans than Germans.
