As far as best ever, Id have to vote for Van (Wailin') Halen's Eruption... Last Edited by Captain T./Dunkelheit on 01/16/2011 11:47 PM "And as I fell apart, nobody paid much attention" |

Kirk always sounds like he never peaks to me. Don't forget about Mr. Crowley, Randy Rhodes. The structure to it is crazy. Pantera - Floods gotta be way up there, same thing structure, full of highs and lows. But eruption is the single reason for modern guitar playing. There isn't a single rock/metal player that hasn't heard eruption, and it not have an effect on them. At the time Eddie was it, if you played guitar, you wanted to play like him. Everything he did was copied, or added to anyone that played, even his gear setups, boiling strings in water, over feeding his amp head to get the "Brown Sound" cutting up your guitars, DIY Frankenstein paint, even unwinding your pick coils and rewinding it backward from how the factory made it. If there was something Ed could think of to improve his tone he would try it. |
