Quoting: wirelessguru1Things will never get better until they bring back manufacturing, but that doesn't seem to be the evil ptb 'plan'.... It is more than jobs. The problem is the entire debt-based "slavery" system which is greedy, corrupt and degenerate, so what is really needed is a new socio-economic system. I really think that is the end game of this whole thing. They want to introduce a cashless society...so, how to get there? Only through lots of hardship and chaos, first. Eventual implanted chip is the end of the end-game. |

Nailer45 User ID: 1230383 United States 01/17/2011 03:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | land and housing prices have been way over inflated since the early eighties. A 1400 sq ft, 2bdrm home on 1 acre of ground should cost no more than $50,000 Gasoline should be no more than $1.08 a gallon I see people still asking $18,000 for one acre of land in subdivision,, hahaha and fools are still buying it up. 1982 you could buy prime land to build on in the area for $500 an acre. Not long after that yuppie investors started buying up land and the prices started climbing and within 10yrs a acre of land was going for $8,000-$12,000 GREED and the sheeple willing to pay just kept the prices going higher. why does a Family of 3-4 people need a $500,000 - 1Million dollar home ? I have seen childless couples in their 40's purchase homes with 5 bdrms, 3 bath, 2600 sq ft and not bat an eye at the asking price . I hope that the housing market prices just keep tumbling down . Anonymous Coward User ID: 1178936 United States 01/17/2011 04:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They are absolutely lying to us because the housing market is much worse than what they report. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1233655I saw what was coming in 2005. I sold a home I could not afford, downsized and bought a much smaller home on one acre, for cash. Had I not done that, I would have lost that house and the $100k equity I had in it at the time. I am very happy where I am, no mortgage to pay, no worries about a "bank"...and I plan to always keep it that way. We have been fixing up our present home each year(new roof, water pump, furnace, etc.). I do not care if it is worth less on the market now, as I have a beautiful house that is paid for. Having said this, I still have compassion for those losing their homes. It all comes down to jobs, which they have been outsourcing for awhile now, with 'some' replacements at far less wages. Things will never get better until they bring back manufacturing, but that doesn't seem to be the evil ptb 'plan'.... that is good about your house. just hope you don't have to move. that is where people get in trouble. there house is just not worth what they paid for it and they end up not being able to move or just have to take what the market offers. hope you don't ever have to move. |

Hmmm (OP) User ID: 853190 United States 01/17/2011 06:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Something to mention. Both my wife and I put down $300,000, (equity from selling our homes before we got married), so we really figured out that we could afford to purchase a $300,00 dollar home,...which I think is more on the normal side. There's no way we would have even considered something more expensive. I did know some people that bought $700,000 dollar homes with almost nothing down with an ARM loan,....they were out years ago. I guess we could have moved into my old house,...built in the 60's, with no insulation, (95 degrees inside when the AC crapped out), a child molester living 2 doors down and a neighbor who had conversations with the light pole when he was tripping on LSD,...but....my wife/me and kids said no. We live in a safe area now, where there's a lot of "normal" families with kids running around outside....if the value of my home drops another 50% oh well...a home is more than its monetary value. |

I had to file BK back in 2001 and since then I only use direct debit checking cards. Yes it has a Visa logo but if we don't have it in the bank it doesn't get spent. We do have student loans car payments and a furniture payment WE don't have any credit card payments. ----------------------------------------------- I don't know when we will decide to buy a house. Renting may be throwing away money but I don't have yard work and I don't have to worry about being in debt on a mortgage that keeps loosing value. |
