I can see that. I've only spent a few days there. Armison's right. It's a slacker's Mecca. I just didn't find his delivery very funny, but I've never really thought Armison was all that funny, anyway.

JESSE WAS A REAL NICE DOWN TO EARTH KINDA GUY BUT WALTON WHAT A TURKEY NOBODY EVEN TALKED TO THE GUY.

A few years back I stumbled on an interesting blog by a young woman who wrote about all the weird and bizarre goings-on in Portland. I lost the bookmark and haven't been able to find it since.

"Portland is a city where young people go to retire."

Good stuff. Reminds me of the "Man vs Food" episode where Adam visited "Voodoo Donuts". I got the same kind of vibe from that show as it depicted the local street crowd in Portland.

It doesn't surprise me that you didn't get many responses.

Most here can't relate to the lifestyle that's being depicted, even if it's in satire. GuLPers aren't into the slacker / youth / grunge / facial-piercing motifs. Plus, GuLPers hate hippies, which is basically what the video is speaking to, as Portland is pretty lefty in its youth culture. So this brand of humor is a bit too nuanced for GLP, and it would have to be much more mean-spirited for those here to really enjoy it.

the blogger called it "Portal-land", said there were portals in which people would occasionally come in from another dimension. Crazy.

My super spiked hair and crazy attire does not blend, but gets recognition. I love it when a person comes jogging past on the riverfront walkway and shouts "Yo Azzy" and I have not got a clue who it is!
