Quoting: silvertard 1225716Well, now silver is almost $30/oz...guess how much I can sell my silver coins for? You'd think it'd be somewhere around $11/each...but no. They're only offering me $5/each. What kind of fuckery is this? Don't buy junk silver...it's a scam. Try to eat them !! :cruise; |

I never bought my junk silver to sell back to the coin shops, that is what my bullion/bars are for. If you really think your area could face a severe breakdown of society at some point you are going to need some sort of legal tender PM coinage to conduct business, because no one is going to want your cheap coins or paper. Quoting: RD47blog 1199284It does not matter if its coins. I sell coins for a living. An ounce is an ounce. There is a premium on .999 coins both buying and selling. It is all relative. What kind of fuckery is this? Don't buy junk silver...it's a scam. "Fuckery" !! The thing is, there's "investment grade" metal and "junk" metal. The "junk" coins are actually best used for SHTF events to be used as currency when there is no fiat money in circulation. That being said, junk silver is NOT a scam, because silver is silver is silver and it sells BY WEIGHT at a SPOT PRICE, junk or not. Anyone not paying at bid spot prices is lying to you. The scam is the buyer, not the silver. How can silver be a scam? It CAN'T. |

Do these buyers actually know what they are doing or just there to buy "silver in any form"? Actually, I have talked to many of them on the phone who when they win something ask if I have more. These guys arent dumb as another poster suggested above. They hoard small change for silver bullion but ONLY in the form of coins. Its actually the smartest way to own silver if you buy into TSHTF senario. And it is the absolute cheapest way to get a fixed amount of silver. |
