Did the Moon shift or did the Earth shift?
Look at the "eyes" on the moon. They've moved. Any explanations?

If that is correct it would be news to keep quit.

Moon had a polar shift a few years ago and this could say that after a polar shift the planet rebalances it self.
Another point to the shaking up of the power of the earth and heaven.

Field rotation and libration are both reasons why you might think it's "shifting."

So taking a pic of the moon at a set time for a few years like taking a pic every august at 21:00 and comparing them would prove that field rotation and libration is the cause ?

I'm not the idiot claiming that the moon or the Earth shifted, so you might want to rethink who the "moran" who needs to go back to school might be here.

Why would you think the moon would look the same at a given time of day on a given date each year? The moon's orbital period is 27.3 days... that doesn't divide evenly into the earth's 365.25 day orbital period around the sun.

If you took a picture on a specific date at a specific time in a specific location, a year later on the same date and time at the same location, the Moon would be at a different location and phase. It wouldn't do any good.

The moon has its own Electromagnetic field.

Thus it will flip separately to earth in 2012

Looks like the moon flipped first.

To prove field rotation all you have to do is observe the way the sky moves over the course of a night. Watch the way Orion is oriented when it rises (laying on his right side, your left), when it's high overhead (standing up fairly straight), and when it sets (laying on his left side, your right). You'll see the same effect in the apparent orientation of the moon. A polar aligned telescope does not see this effect, which is why it is used for long exposure astrophotography.

To prove libration you can take photos of the moon when it's at the same phase in different months. If you do so you can even use the difference in perspective to generate a stereoimage of the moon.

went out and looked again about 10ish and it looked much smaller.

Re: Did the Moon shift or did the Earth shift?
Libration would account for it appearing to shift if it was within it's standard deviation. However if you compare the current position of the lunar craters with any traditional moon map you can see that they are clearly not within there standard diviation. There has been a French scientist who recently released a paper on this. His summation is thst a polar shift is not a sufficient cause for the amount of obsearvable shift and that there is likely a planetary body of significant size outside our current scope of observation that may or may not be influencing the gravitational stability of the moons orbit, but claims that this possibilty is still speculative and that the definite cause of the shift is still unknown.

Because moon maps are designed for general use, and don't (in fact can't) show field rotation or libration. It's the same as moon phase calendars - they always show a "standard" moon.

Field rotation depends on when you look at the moon, and where you are on the earth. Libration is a slow and continuous change.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10426840

I think you're talking about the paper by Lorenzo Iorio, who's Italian BTW. In fact he said exactly the opposite - that the data showns no evidence of a large planetary body affecting the moon.

The effect he was looking at is also so small you can't see it with the naked eye.

The moon hasn't "shifted" or "tilted", and neither has the earth. You just haven't been looking regularly to see what you think as strange in fact happens all the time.

should be.
