Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1154372 Hmmm could be, if they said it was pulsating as well, This would actually like phase out to nothing, then expand to house sized then to nothing, for around 10 minutes or so. maybe you're seeing betelgeuse gone off. Supernovas dont pulsate, phase out, and then exspand to the size of a house. And they especially dont last for 10 Minutes. If the Star does Nova, they estimate sunlike conditions 24 hours a day for at least 2 weeks.
