The cell phone service outage occurred around 1:30 p.m. and was restored at 3:50 p.m. The outage affected Hampton Roads and surrounding areas, despite earlier reports from Verizon store representatives that said it was statewide. Prior to the Verizon outage two thousand Dominion Virginia Power customers in Newport News lost power for two hours. The outage, which was caused by an underground equipment problem, does not appear to have been related to the Verizon service failure, according to Bonita Harris, manager of media relations for Dominion. Yeah, I looked into that before I posted this thread. They didn't look related to me, but hey, this is a conspiracy theory site! Maybe they're testing a new EMP weapon! You are a nut. They shut down some streets for hours because it was to dark without street lights. Verizon also went down for all of VA yesterday. |
