They stopped saying Global Warming in their arguments because people were catching on. Especially after Climategate took place.

They started saying Climate Change in their argument to lure people back in.

What people may or may not know is that the climate is always changing. It has changed, is changing and always will change. Keep in mind the big difference between climate and weather.

They said back in 2000 that Europe saw its last major freeze and snow fall because everything was getting warmer.

Now, since they have been debunked, they quickly change things around and say global warming is the reason for sever cold and extra snow etc. Now that's fine and dandy except for the fact that they originally said it wasn't going to be this way.

I love how they say 2010 was one of the hottest years on record.
And without stating how far back they have been recording for, don't acknowledge that out of all the hot days on record, 2010 is nothing compared to the Med-evil warming time period or the Roman Warming Time Period. And no, they didn't have SUV's and factories producing tons of carbon to accomplish this. These things happen ( cold and warm periods) because that's just how nature works!

They like to say Co2 stays in the atmosphere and causes all these problems. Yet fail to acknowledge that Co2 is heavier then oxygen and lingers closer to the ground and is easily absorbed through the photosynthesis process.

Little to mediocre research and hearing more then one side of the story will lead people to the conclusion that the science is not settled on this subject.


Here should be the smoking gun on this whole matter.....

IF...IF global warming was such a problem and had dire consequences for us in the future, then do YOU Really Think they would propose carbon taxes and the like on anything producing Co2?

NO!

They would HALT Co2 productions atleast 90%!

By taxing Co2 all they are doing is making those factories and companies who have to pay those taxes, get their money back by raising the prices on their goods and services.

So NOTHING is changing except the people behind this scam get richer!

I love the part where all the world leaders go by HUGE ASS private jets to meet in a HUGE conference room in a far away country, with lots of expensive, high-powered electrical equipment, and bright, non-energy saving lights around the entire place with an energy bill I'd hate to foot, then fail to agree to set any targets, then fly allllll the way back home (by private jet again) to travel via fuel-guzzling cars (4x4 or expensive cars) to go back to a massive building (I wonder how much it costs to heat that place up?) with lots of expensive, high-powered electrical equipment, bright, non-energy...

The day they [the world leaders] roll around in energy-saving cars, and go to energy efficient [preferrably smaller] buildings (with energy efficient lights), and meet via an online conference (avoiding fuel, building, energy and heat costs) that is publically accessible to watch (avoiding camera costs), and all of this isn't done as a PR stunt...

...That will be the day I'd find climate change credible.

Til then, I will continue disbelieving the [climate change] arguments, and will still maintain sustainability and efficiency [and self-sufficiency, if possible] (which I always have, long before these arguments even ever entered the fray).

You have no clue as to the actual price we pay for the energy we consume.

Why dont you go look up the number of dams on rivers throughout the world. Look what those dams cause. The death and destruction of countless lives both human and non-human. How about the BP oil spill.. what does the damage bring the total cost of that energy up to? How about fracking? How about mining coal. How about the solar, wind, water power tech? It all sounds wonderful.. but the materials required to produce such tech come at the cost of awful strip mining and pollution beyond imagination.

The only reason ANYTHING seems cheap to you... is because some other living creature is paying with their blood somewhere far away that you cant see.

130 years is a blink. It has been warmer and colder several times throughout the earth's history, and man had nothing to do with it.

Who are we to declare what is the "proper" climate?

Yeah, umm....these are the same people who said global warming would cause warmer winters with less snow fall. More rainy if anything.

It was man's fault. He burned too many campfires.

And who are you to declare man's innocence? Are you denying that human kind has has no impact on the environment? And what has that impact been on the whole? Would you say we are a benevolent, kind species that takes care of things and leaves the world better than we found it? It's just as likely that our species, and its short sighted, "take everything, leave nothing" approach is a major factor in climate change.

I don't think anyone is arguing what impact humans have on the planet.

We impact it when we dump chemicals into the land and water and air. We impact it when we use nukes and bomb cities etc.

We're arguing man's effect on the climate through use of Co2 induced global warming.

It is that argument that has not been settled and if anything has proven the claims for global warming caused by man made Co2 is ludicrous.

So let's stick with that argument. We already know man effects the planet. Let's say and show how and how not.

We pollute, nobody ever claimed otherwise.

Stop the lie that we have altered the global climate. It is simply ridiculous. Stop trying to tax people for breathing. It is just another scheme to enrich the bankers.

How about this?

The arguments get placed to one side. Both parties would agree efficiency, sustainability and self-sufficiency is in the interests of all people involved?

Efficiency lowers costs in the long run. Sustainability means we can re-use items, avoiding environmental damages (pollution of rivers we use, forests degradation, etc). Self-sufficiency means less reliance on a centralised system that can go wrong.

If we focus too much on the arguing, we are going to miss on the real environmental damage that occurs everyday.
