the quote from Kirk is more in align with God's word than the Gnostic writings.
Quoting: Salt & LightYes Salt and Light...However, your thread topic is about a subject matter that survived the ages by being passed down in other writings and by verbal story tradition. It is a history that is not explained by the Bible or the book of Enoch alone. By limiting the discussion to only those texts that you agree with, you are discounting the secrets that can be gleamed from other writings such as children's fairy tales, Norse legends and mythology. I was going to share, but to be perfectly honest, you seem to run your threads a bit heavy handed and I shy away, as likely do a few others. No disrespect intended, just giving you my two cents. Quoting: Magnus74found it... oral tradition was a discipline that was based on the accurate and detailed account of historical matters. it is not like what we think of today. oral tradition was a serious and disciplined art of reciting long passages of history, by memory, without error. your theory: i am limiting my discussion and beliefs to only certain texts on the subject that i agree with, while dismissing other texts that have gleanings to the same. i only dismiss texts that are in sharp contrast to God's word. Gnostic texts are a good example of this. i do not dismiss any work or study that is in alignment with the essence of God's message, Jesus' message.... heavy-handed..? wow, ok. strong in conviction? maybe... i like to think of myself as relatively open-minded, but will shut down anything that comes my way that is obviously not from God, or His holy word.thanks for your two cents. what are your thoughts on the subject? Quoting: Salt & LightThank you for responding. My thoughts are- that we are in a intellectual dilemma because we are boxed in to a corner when talking about this subject. The Fallen Ones / Watchers were worshiped as gods and their stories are told elsewhere- like I said they are found in Norse Legend, Greek Mythology, Native American Legend and in other stories from all over the world and other writings that are NOT the Word of God. So we can't even discuss the topic. Seriously, no problem S&L- you can do as you wish on your thread, and I am sorry now, I even said something. Just wanted to give you my perception. Hope you are doing well and continue to heal from your loss. God Bless, Quoting: Magnus74don't be sorry...why are you sorry? i read many books and writings outside of biblical ones. i hope i did not give you the impression otherwise. it is the same as anything else, as far as sourcing goes. if i want to learn about something, i tend to check the source of the info for credibility. there are many sources, not all Christian, that provide excellent info. there are also bad sources that provide lies. some of those lies are easy to see, others are not and must be discerned. that's my point. thanks for your blessing.
