Ya'll have some scary ruthless criminals running amok down there though. Most of the Mexicans I've met have been hard working people just trying to give their family a better opportunity that they would have hard in their homeland. Who can blame them? As for the ones that hop the fence illegally and take advantage of our welfare system...I blame the US government for letting everybody think they can live here for free, as much as I blame the illegals that take advantage of it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1247052What can we do to improve our relationship? (Please, put aside the illegal alien thing) Can we live in a Union? Let's say, in a North American Union for our own benifit? I don't hate Mexicans, in fact I like them, but asking us to put aside the felony of being an illegal alien - imagine, there are 12 to 30 million felons who have illegally crossed our borders - is like asking Mary Todd Lincoln, "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?" Got pain? Free relief. [link to lowerpain.org] |

There is a war going on and hundreds of you are illegally crossing the border to the US putting a huge strain on the US economically. I feel for the poor in Mexico, but the middle class in the US is strangling from higher taxes and many don't even have health insurance, but your people can cross the border and receive free medical and shelter and education for your children and most of you have more than two children. It's a heavy burden to bear and this is an English speaking country. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 902591You see we could gain if worked together, but that kind of thinking is what keeps us apart. |

Let's say, in a North American Union for our own benifit? It would only be to the third world country's benefit. it's like asking someone to take on ton of raw sewage on their property so you only have one and say it's for "our" own benefit. i think you mean yours. We are being completely used and abused by the illegals and their belligerent hatred. Like a rabid dogs that eats and drinks and lives in your home and is threatening and bites you. How is that you anyone's benefit. Let us own property and businesses in Mexico, let us have English translations and free medical and food stamps in Mexico. That would be "mutual". All taking and no giving isn't to the takee's benefit AT ALL. |

Yes, that's probably true and I feel that circumstances always work out in the long run, but I was born in an English speaking country with our own red, white and blue flag NOT the Mexican flag. Many Mexicans in this country want to fly their flag above ours and demand services that many do not get in this country. Mexico does not allow near the immigration that the US does. This is actually an invasion of illegal immigrants entering the US. As it is now, the 'anchor babies' will be the majority in this country. I understand the plight of the Mexican people and Mexico should try harder to control the drug wars and feed it's own people, so there isn't the burden of economically supporting hundreds illegal immigrants. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1078715 United States 01/29/2011 01:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't hate mexicans. I hate that we as a country are not having our borders observed and respected by another nation. Then those folks that make it through make money, live the life, then they start bitching about how this should all be theirs. That mexicans 200 years ago got the short end of the stick after meeting superior soldiers. Normally when you lose a war over territory, you lose it all. They infact got money for their loss. Yeah my family might have been immigrants, but they did it by the books. That's all we're asking for. Observe our laws, attempt to assimilate, meld your culture with ours... instead of staying defiant, refusing to recognize the rule of law, almost demanding that we change to accommodate you. No, we were here before you, this is the way it is. Don't like it, there is the door. |

It's just a dream. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1247052As of right now, 20 percent at least of the illegal immigrants are committing crimes or are felons. Anytime there is an invasion of illegal immigrants into another country, the crime rate goes up and gangs form. On one hand, I feel that I'm being unfair and care about the poor of Mexico, but on the other hand, people are struggling here in the US too. I don't know why Americans don't take to the streets and demand their government make changes. I think Brzenzenski is right. People are waking up. |
