When the Beatles were introduced to America, that's when America started to suck a little more. They perfectly glided in when JFK, blown away, what more do I have to say?

Though if you have shitty family or shitty people around, anywhere will suck.

The last two years have been the worst...was hoping 2011 would start off nice. It hasn't picked up yet...

If you believe the last 2 years have been the worst, then the last 2 years have been the worst. At least for you. Have you not realized yet that we create our own reality?

For me, the last 2 years havent been the worst simply because I don't believe they have been the worst. It's all a matter of perception.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you've heard a lot here today and I won't try to go back over it all. But you have to go back in that room and make some decisions and there is one thing I want to make very clear to you before you do. I'm not trying to convince you that you should like what Larry Flynt does. I don't like what he does. But what I do like is... that I live in a country... where you and I can make that decision for ourselves. I like that I live in a country where I can pick up Hustler magazine... read it if I want... or throw it in the trash, if that's where I think it belongs. Or better yet I can express my opinion by not buying it. I like that right. I care about it. And you should care about it, too... because we live in a free country. We say that a lot, but sometimes we forget what that means, so listen again. We live in a free country. That is a powerful idea. That's a magnificent way to live. But there is a price for that freedom, which is that sometimes... we have to tolerate things that we don't necessarily like. So go back in that room... where you are free to think whatever you want to think... about Larry Flynt and Hustler magazine. But then ask yourselves if you want to make that decision for the rest of us... because the freedom that everyone in this room enjoys... is, in a very real way, in your hands. If we start throwing up walls against what some of us think is obscene... we may wake up one morning and realize... that walls have been thrown upin places we never expected... and we can't see anythingor... do anything. And that's not freedom. That is not freedom. So, be careful. Thank you."

Re: Remember When Things Didn't Suck?
So, I asked my Grandma about the good old days. She looked at me and said:

"Gottdammit, Kenny Ray! Der vas no goot alt days! Vorld Var Vun, da flu, depression, crooked cops, anudder gottdamnt vorld var, den annudder var, recession, da flu again, and now dis Viet-t'ing ... der vas no goot alt days!"

So said Myrtle.

We tend to remember the good and forget the bad.

But I must say that the general world situation is very poor; indeed, without precedent throughout history in any field you wish to name.

We're in for a rough ride.

I can't. One of my earliest memories was the Iran hostages, then gas rationing, then Reagan... Of course there was also the Cold War, New Coke, Pepsi Clear, SNL with Joe Piscopo, MTV taking a crap, New Kids On The Block, Bush, Olean, SARS, Bush II, 9/11, Tsnunami, Katrina, Anthrax, Surreal Life... I just don't know where to end this list.

Life on earth always contained problems however there was a time we believed in our country and in my case joined the military to prevent communism. However today we have a president hell bent on taking us down the road to communism and I am left feeling that we need to revert to our past.

I was stationed in the United Kingdom when Ronald Reagan and watched the dollar strengthened and wonder what he could have accomplished if not hindered by a democrat senate and house.

The world will always have problems this is life however, Americans have moved from being self sufficient to dependants on social welfare and this is where the problem rests.

peace.

P.S.- There comes a time when people choose either this (peace) or that (war). And there are no hierarchies to make it right or wrong. There are only people with a choice.
