The more enterprising ones will form homeschool co-ops. Schools are overcrowded and they are firing teachers and adding "district in-service days" (budget cut no-school days) more and more. My daughter's own school is overwhelmed with immigrants who barely speak English. How is she supposed to get a decent education in a school full of kids who don't speak English? Yeah, globalization and allowing illegals in has worked splendidly for our country, right Republicans??? |

The sheer numbers of immigrants have brought the cream down from the top in a big way. They used to be assimilated with regularity in manageable numbers, not disrupting the country too much. Please forgive this, but in my lifelong experience as a border state resident, I find that the men are just too violent and vengeful and treat women with much disrespect overall. I agree with what you said. Plus, isn't there some country where Teachers make the highest and second highest salaries of all jobs? What's wrong with that concept?!? (I am not a teacher, but education of our children is too important). |

Too many school districts close together duplicating administrative functions, such as Dallas and Ft. Worth. ALL of this is for one reason and one reason only. So that sports can continue as it always has. Consolidate schools and someone looses their sports team. Our local school just decided to spend 12 million 8 million for sports related gym/stadium updates and 3 million for new classrooms. Education is secondary to sports in school. Texas has already been saving alot of money in schools tho. They get their history and science books from the Gideons for free |

Quoting: TXREPUBLICHONEY80,000 - 100,000 Are About to GET PINK SLIPPED Moak, Casey and Associates, financial consultants for Dallas and several other large school districts, have estimated that the proposed House cuts could force a loss of 80,000 to 100,000 jobs in school districts across the state. In Dallas, the projected reduction was nearly $239 million under one scenario and $253 million under another. The NEA report also looked at average teacher salaries, finding that Texas teachers rank 31st with an average salary of $48,261. That is nearly $7,000 less than the national average of $55,202 for the 2009-10 school year. A decade ago, Texas ranked 33rd in the comparison. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA GOOODDDD!!!!!!!!!! I HATED my retarded teachers all through the public school system. I'm gonna look on the FISD website in a few months to see who all got canned. Then laugh. |

Two years later, they can say the economy is improving but it certainly isn't enough, people are tired of the government handouts and waste. It is about time government employees feel some pain. |
