Jesus wasn't being a hippie when he said to love our enemies....love is literally an energy and can be used as a shield/weapon against evil.

It is the only defense against evil afaik.

The whole story is, that there is an other side of the coin called "evil", which is essential for growth too and the difficulty is to figure out, how much of it is enough and how much is too much for optimal evolution.

Let the dead bury the dead.

Jesus actually taught that this world was evil and thus went on to teach people how to overcome this evil world, so that you may be where your Father/creator is.

So to be where your father is, one must first develop a relationship with him.

Hence why Jesus said turn to your Father. Or seek the kingdom of Heaven within.



The way you use love probably would have the complete opposite effect of what Jesus taught. Since being human you only love those like yourself. Hence the desire to find "common ground" within all religions. Jesus was mainly killed for not doing that.

Secondly, Love = Understanding.

People today are addicted to the Human form of love, since they assume the highest physical expression is sex, which they relate to human love, and thus assume to think of Jesus in that way.

Hence the mindlessness of the love mantra.
