Do you really want just anyone driving a car?

Not to mention... do a driving license PHYSICALLY STOPS a drunk driver? NO. Fact is, we have driver licenses now... and do drunk drivers exist? YES! Gee what a surprise! And a drunk driver is not as dangerous as a teenager trying to prove he's manly by driving like a madman or an old 80 years old senile person driving. It may not stop a hardcore drunk driver, but it does allow for consequences for that drunk driver, and is a guarantee of some basic level of competence. It may not solve all the problems of bad drivers, but it would be a thousand times worse without some sort of standard. Plus the guy's argument is false to begin with.
