Well if he was over his 9 gram quota on pseudoephedrine, then he did, in fact, break the law. That meth head SHOULD be arrested!

Yep, I tried to buy some fiberglass resin Saturday at Home Depot. The self-checkout wouldn't scan it until I'd showed an ID to a clerk. If there were ANY clerks I wouldn't have been in a self-checkout since I HATE them. Since when is fiberglass a hazardous substance? What about all those danged boats then? I just walked out. Don't need a garden ornament that badly. I've bought that stuff for years with no hassle. Are hammers and nail guns also considered "dangerous"? More people get killed with them than fiberglass resin I would think. Regular police-state we have now.

Thanks for the Meth Recipe...not planning to make any, but I'll know what 3 things are needed if I ever become a junkie.

In Oklahoma, they actually limit the sales by making people buy it at a pharmacy and keeping track. It's inconvenient, annoying as hell, makes you feel like a criminal when you just want to breath again, and I don't even know if it has eased our meth problem here or not.

It's a silly law.

OH, and FYI, it IS illegal to own pseudoephedrine if you have obtained more than 9 grams in a thirty day period

"The "Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005" provides for criminal penalties for non compliance and limits the maximum amount an individual can buy to 9 grams of pseudoephedrine per any 30 day period:
This makes it unlawful for any person to knowingly or intentionally purchase at retail more than 9 grams during a 30 day period (of which no more than 7.5 grams can be imported by private or commercial carrier or the Postal Service). -- CME 2005"
-Erowid.org

Also the guy had previous convictions for burglary and 11 misdemeanors, according to court records.

That stupid jackass.
 Quoting: Lenny 1222542

#1 - They would not have sold him more than 9 grams, so nothing illegal there.

#2 - A burglary and 11 misdemeanors IS NOT the same as manufacturing a controlled substance, which is a felony.

#3 - There is NO PROOF that he was going to make meth, and it is perfectly reasonable that he was having a cookout and picking up some allergy pills.

As far as getting it, I do. These were not the only things he bought, just part of his list. I don't want anyone to look at what I buy and try to pigeon hole me into some sort of illegal practice. Then send the police to do a search and possible seizure. He has been arrested on the purchase and nothing more. At least that is what the article states.

To be quite honest, we were NEVER "innocent until proven guilty". The charges against you stand until you prove otherwise. Thats why you get arrested and thrown in jail, then have to prove you won't flee, just to get a low bail.

You are "guilty until proven innocent".

Indeed.

Any person on this thread who doesnt see something wrong with this arrest situation is a damn fool, who is probably willing to give up freedom to feel safe.

Please read my signature below, and understand, that there are no guarantees of any kind of safety when you are truly free. So, dont be a coward and take away freedoms for only previeved safety, because "precieved" does not mean guarantee.
"Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither"
--Benjamin Franlkin

No one ever said freedom was safe. Upon true understanding of the concepts of freedom, you shall realize that freedom is the most dangerous choice of lifestyle. There are no guarantees in freedom but those one provides for themselves, at their own will. True freedom comes with extreme personal risk. Are you willing to take the risk?

So what percentage of 9 grams do you think one box is?

Understand what the laws are implying, that information is the real world. The laws are just arbitrary decisions by a small minority within it.

Those people will only help themselves, even if you are getting hurt, they will still sell you things that can legally kill you.

What they will not do, is allow you to gain an advantage.

You will find this when you begin to think your own thoughts more often.

What this should show you if that your studies didn't inform you of the world you would be ultimately interacting in.

Have you ever taken meth?

And.

If it's here, then someone's going to try and do it. Whether you can handle it or not is up to how you develop your sense of awareness. Whether it's in response and reflection of society, or something deeper within.

This will also help determine how you will fare in the coming events.

Greetings,

I don't believe you can be arrested for what is on your shopping list let alone charged with a Felony.

That list can however raise an issue of probable cause to pay the guy a visit. During that visit is likely to be where something came up that led to an arrest.

Likely not a Member of Mensa nor qualified to become one as there would have been no reason for a guy to purchase the items together thereby raising suspicion.

Did the article say it was the guys first time in the store?

At any rate I understand the title but don't really see it as accurate.
