What a disingenuous ad. They're comparing phone and technology choices to what was available 25 years ago. Not only is that an insult to what Orwell was trying to warn us about, but it's also not in the least bit factual.

If a company were to come out and spend money on an ad that talks nothing about their product, but is simply a 30 second message about rising police brutality and our reduced civil rights since the Patriot Act, I bet they would instantly gain the respect of 80% of Americans and actually gain market share because of it.

totally lame clip/concept/everything but I must say it has raised my awareness that motorola still exists. i havent seen anyone with a motorola handset in my entire life, the only one I ever saw was a proper old school car phone, curly cord and everything, in my friends' dad's bmw way back in like '95. I always assumed they merged with one of the big boys like ericsson did and shared their know-how with a trusted name. ad still sucks though and i wont be buying any of their products as long as i live so fuck motorola. ok i'm done.
